You do need a bibliography, and i'll tell you why:
Well it all depends on what type of project or essay you are working on. While you should theoretically make a bibliography for every written work, most people just don't. Higher education institutions usually require a bibliography and there may be large penalties for not submitting a bibliography with written work.

MLA is a good standard for bibliographies:
"Founded in 1883, the Modern Language Association of America provides support and opportunities for its members to share their scholarly findings and teaching experiences with colleagues and to discuss trends in the academy. MLA members host an annual convention and other meetings, work with related organizations, and sustain one of the finest publishing programs in the humanities. For over a hundred years, members have worked to strengthen the study and teaching of language and literature." (source: MLA faq)

There are a couple reasons why your bibliography may not be in alphabetical order:
At the current time, the method of sorting your citations is case sensitive. This means that a capital 'B' will come before a lower case 'a' and so forth. A simple way to ensure that your bibliography is correctly sorted it to capitalize the first letter of the last name of the author of your source. In the absense of an author you should capitalize the first letter of the title of your source. In practice the first letter of almost every word in each field should be capitalized, however most people rarely bother to do so.

There may be extra commas or periods in your bibliography:
An extra charactor may be present in your bibliography if you fail to fill in a required field. If you don't fill in the author field the script that create your bibliography will notice this and there will be no errors. However this is not the case when you do not enter data in a title field for example, a correct source will include all information asked for in the forms.

You may not be able to find all the rquired information for your bibliography:
We understand that it can be very difficult to locate information regarding your citations. This is particulary true for internet sources, if you have time you may be able to email a website asking for the desired information. However most people start their work the night before and emailing the author is not always possible, furthermore most texts on the internet do not have authors, and therefore it is not a required field.

A bibliography may require a lot of information:
First of all, I am sorry that you have to fill in so much information to create a bibliography. Although if your report excludes a bibliography you may be convicted of plagerism by your teachers, so we see inputing a little data in a couple fields a good way to save what-ever dignity you still posses.

You have probably noticed the 'report bug' buttons on pages:
As you are probably aware, a 'bug' is an error in a program, script, or machine. If you find an error with any part of the creation process of your bibliography please report it so we may work on fixing the problem.
